The St Michael's Players to Perform The Titfield Thunderbolt

The first production of the year by the Chiswick-based St. Michael’s players will be The Titfield Thunderbolt.

The play by Philip Goulding directed by Guy Fairbank is based on the screenplay for the classic Ealing Studios comedy by TEB Clarke and it tells the story of a group of villagers, who, finding that their beloved branch railway line is about to be axed, decide to buy and run the railway themselves.

As well as convincing the railway authorities that they're competent enough to work the line, they have to face skullduggery and other misdemeanours from Vernon Crump, who’s set on providing a competitive bus service.

The play is staged ‘in traverse’ so audience members will feel very much part of the play and The Players may need your help to get the service to Mallingford up and running.

It is taking place at the St Michael’s Centre, Elmwood Road, Chiswick, W4 3DY from 29 March - 1 April at 7.45pm each evening with doors open 30 minutes before curtain.

The tickets, which can be purchased on The St. Michael’s Players web site, are available online from £9 or £13 on the door.

St. Michael's Players is one of the longest established drama groups in London. It has been staging plays in West London since 1949. In a good year it will present two full length performances in the Spring and the Autumn, a one-act play in the Summer and its famous panto at Christmas.
