New term starts on Sunday 25th September
SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING TAKES OFF AGAIN IN CHISWICK WITH BEGINNERS CLASSES FOLLOWED BY SOCIAL DANCING
The Chiswick Scottish Country Dance Club (CSCDC) start their Autumn season with a re-launch of their popular Beginners classes in the upper hall of St. Michael & All Angels Church,W4, at 6.00 p.m. on Sunday 25 September
Members are the first to admit that they are not in the professional league, but “concentrate more on having an entertaining evening in a convivial atmosphere, learning new dances from time to time, but always returning to old favourites”
Newcomers and improvers will be learning the basic steps and patterns of the dances during the first hour. They are then joined by the Regular dancers for some social dancing – putting into practice what they have learned. After a break for refreshments, the Regulars continue with some more challenging dancing.
“The whole point of taking part is to enjoy oneself. It is a form of dancing that is wonderful exercise, particularly in the winter months, and is a great social activity for both young and old. For those who want to graduate to the more technically challenging aspects of Scottish Dancing, these classes are an ideal stepping stone. At only £35 (£20 for full time students) for ten weeks up to Christmas, they are great value for money.”
