Family Open Day At Gunnersbury Triangle
Lots of fun whatever the weather
Summer Open Day at Gunnersbury Triangle is taking place on Sunday, 10 July from 1pm-4pm and lots of fun is promised whatever the weather!
There will be nature trails and guided walks, colour-in and cut-out face masks, pond dipping, displays and talks about local wildlife projects to conserve swifts (Chiswick Swifts) and monitoring west London's small mammal populations (Vole Patrol).
Homemade refreshments, a plant stall and a raffle/tombola will also be available. The event is free but donations are welcome.
Jane from the Trust's brand new Water for Wildlife project will also be talking about this exciting project to map and survey freshwater habitats across London. If you would like to take part as a Dragonfly Detective Jane can tell you how.
Gunnersbury Triangle is a wet woodland nature reserve that was saved from building development in the early 1980s and then enhanced by the creation of a pond, and meadow areas. Birds and small mammals take advantage of the sheltered birch and willow while walkways and footpaths help guide visitors around this wild oasis in the middle of urban west London.
The entrance to the reserve is opposite Chiswick Park Underground Station, in Bollo Lane, Chiswick, W4 5LW.
