Families in Chiswick are invited to kick off the festive season with laughter and storytelling as Christ Church Acton Green hosts Christmas Inn Trouble, a nativity-themed play by the acclaimed Riding Lights Theatre Company.

The performance takes place on Friday 5 December at 5pm, with doors opening at 4:30pm. Tickets are priced at £5 per person or £12 for a family, and refreshments will be provided.

The event is part of Christ Church W4’s seasonal programme and promises to be an engaging evening for children aged 4 and up, parents, and grandparents alike. Tickets can be booked via the church’s website.

Christmas Inn Trouble is a fast-paced festive farce set at the chaotic Bethlehem Inn and Spa, where the taps are leaking, the rats are squeaking, and the rooms are bursting with guests. Amid the mayhem, a rascally Roman soldier arrives to ensure everything is “above board,” while silly shepherds, (un)wise men, and a young family with no idea what they’ve walked into add to the hilarity.

Packed with puppets, magic, music, and storytelling, the show reimagines the nativity with warmth and humour, making it accessible and entertaining for younger audiences while still resonating with adults. Riding Lights, known for their inventive and inclusive productions, have toured the UK with Christmas Inn Trouble throughout November and December, receiving praise for their ability to blend slapstick comedy with meaningful themes.
