Founder of WildChiswick to Give Talk at The Pier House

Jo Gilbert explains what led her to set up award-winning charity

The environmental campaigner who launched WildChiswick is to give a talk at The Pier House later this month.

Jo Gilbert, who set up the award-winning charity during lockdown, will be sharing her story and inviting people to learn about the creatures living amongst us in W4.

The talk, which has been organised by the Chiswick Pier Trust, takes place at 7pm on Tuesday 24 October and The Pier House is at Corney Reach Way (W4 2UG).

WildChiswick is a community-based not-for-profit organisation with the aim of increasing awareness of the wildlife around Chiswick. It conducts research and implement ways to help vulnerable species and visits schools and host experts to talk about wildlife. It aims to help improve habitats by drilling hedgehog highways, advising on wildlife gardening, installing swift boxes and making wildlife areas.

The trust works to engage people with the River Thames. It provides access to the Thames and support major river events, as well as organising events of its own.
