To celebrate midsummer, Chiswick Pier Trust would like to welcome you to the river by hosting a Jazz Cruise on Friday 30 June. It will be leaving Chiswick Pier at 7pm and sailing to Westminster and back.

On board to serenade you whilst sailing the Thames will be the jazz band Anacousis. During the cruise a two course buffet supper will be served and drinks will be available to purchase from the bar on board.

Tickets cost £62 per head which can be booked online on the Chiswick Pier Trust web site or by calling 0208 742 2713.

Other forthcoming events organised by Chiswick Pier Trust include a talk by Mike Hildesley on the subject of living with water in the world of climate change

The Chair of Barnes Common will be focusing on the environmental challenges faced by Beverley Brook and Leg o’ Mutton Reservoir

The talk takes place at 7pm on Tuesday 30 May at The Pier House, Corney Reach Way W4 2UG.

It will be opportunity to learn about the history of the reservoir, take a remote journey down the course of Beverley Brook, and be introduced to the wildlife dependent on these sites.

Mike will present some of the current threats to these environments e.g., impacts of water quality and urbanisation as well as the flood and drought risks of climate change.

He will also outline opportunities that local charity Barnes Common provides to combat these threats through a diverse range of projects that local people are invited to get involved in.

Doors open 6.30pm and refreshments will be on sale before the talk, which will last approximately one hour. Admission free for members of Chiswick Pier Trust and £5 for non-members. Book your place here.

The trust works to engage people with the River Thames. It provides access to the Thames and support major river events, as well as organising events of its own.
