Teenagers Dig the Dirt at Kitchen Gardens

Green fingered youths work as part of Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

A strong group of teenagers have been working on their Duke of Edinburgh awards throughout November and December, come rain or shine at Chiswick House's Kitchen Gardens.

Karen Liebreich of Chiswick House Kitchen Garden Association told ChiswickW4.com "They have shovelled horse manure (direct from the Royal stables), they have planted garlic, onions and prickly gooseberry bushes and they have dug and dug to improve the drainage on a swamp that we hope will - one day soon - become a beautiful part of the garden."

Although it hasn't entirely being a one way street.  The green-fingered diligent youths have been paid in salads, squashes and other vegetables.

The next drop-in work session will be held on Sunday 14th January, 1-4pm. All welcome.
