Residents will have the chance to hear directly from their local police team when the Chiswick Area Forum meets at Chiswick Town Hall this Tuesday (17 March). It will be the final Area Forum before May’s local elections and the only public borough-wide meeting scheduled to take place between now and polling day.
The evening begins with an informal marketplace from 6.30pm, offering advice and information from council services and local voluntary groups. The formal meeting starts at 7.30pm in the Main Hall.
One of the key items on the agenda will be an update from the local police team, who will brief residents on crime trends, neighbourhood priorities and ongoing operations in Chiswick. Attendees will be able to put questions directly to officers, raising concerns about safety, anti-social behaviour and policing visibility across the area.
The police presentation will be followed by a talk from Abundance London, the award-winning community organisation behind a wide range of greening, biodiversity and public-realm projects across Chiswick. The group will outline some of its current work and preview upcoming events.
Chair of the Chiswick Area Forum, Chiswick Homefields councillor Jack Emsley, said he hoped for a strong turnout. “I am delighted to welcome our local police team and Abundance London to our final area forum before the election. This is a chance for local residents to ask questions of our local police team and hear from great local community groups, as well as to engage with local councillors. I look forward to seeing plenty of people at Chiswick Town Hall on Tuesday.”
The agenda also includes announcements from councillors, approval of minutes from the January meeting, issue tracking updates and an Open Forum session, which is expected to begin at around 9pm. Members of the public will be able to raise matters of local concern, subject to the usual participation guidelines.
The meeting will take place at Chiswick Town Hall, Heathfield Terrace, Turnham Green, W4 4JN.
