The agenda of the next meeting of the Chiswick Area Forum is dominated by issues related to the environment.
Members of the public are welcome to attend at Chiswick Town Hall on Tuesday 12 September when there will be an opportunity to follow proceedings as well as address questions to local councillors and council officers.
The meeting will discuss the latest stage of Hounslow Council’s Flood Risk Management Strategy with climate change forcing a reconsideration of earlier assumptions about the risk to the area.
Then there will be a presentation on The Thames Landscape Strategy, which aims to shape the riverside environment from Kingston to Kew.
Following this Hounslow Council officers will give a progress update on the Climate Emergency Action Plan. The council has recently announced that it has managed to achieve an on target reduction in its carbon emissions.
The final item on the agenda will be a discussion of Recycling in Hounslow and then any business which the Chair agrees to accept on grounds of urgency.
Residents are invited to raise any other subjects during the Open Forum.
As with previous meetings, there will be an informal networking event at the venue for an hour before the meeting with stalls from community groups and sandwiches and beverages served.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets. We’ve always done that and won’t be changing, in fact we’d like to do more. However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them.
