The popular event will be opened by Jenny Seagrove

The Chiswick Dog Show will be opened this year by actress and dog-lover Jenny Seagrove.

The show is one of the most popular events locally and last year over 2,500 people attended and 430 dogs were entered in the various dog classes.

This year the event will take place on Sunday September 23 in its usual venue of the cricket pitch at Chiswick House grounds, and registration for the dog classes is now open on www.chiswickhousedogshow.org.uk.

Traditional favourites such as Fancy Dress and Best Young Handler will this year be joined by novelty classes such as Waggiest Tail and My Dog’s Got Talent and the Best Groomed Dog class.

Visitors can expect to see many celebrities judging the classes including journalist Tom Mangold, Richard McCourt (of Dick and Dom,) Jilly Johnson, Beverley Cuddy from Dogs Today Magazine, actors James Dreyfus and Peter Egan.

Dogs Trust will also be running a dog crèche throughout the day. The new management team at Southfields Grooming will be sponsoring the official show Programme, and veterinary surgery Acton Lane Vets will again be sponsoring the show rings.
