Riverside Ward Gets Another CPZ Consultation
Hounslow Council says it is responding to complaints of indiscriminate parking
The latest CPZ consultation for Riverside ward has started with letters gone out to residents from Hounslow Council.
This is the latest in the ongoing saga of piecemeal CPZs being introduced into Grove Park, with displacement parking now leading to areas demanding some control over parking in their streets. This is despite the overall rejection of CPZ for Grove Park some years ago. opponents say it is being introduced by "creep".
The letter from the Parking department at Hounslow Council says the consultatio is necessary following complaints fromm residents in Riverside concerning indiscriminate parking, and that petitions have requested parking restrictions be introduced.
"This parking issue is being attributed to the possible displacement of vehicles from the introduction o CPZs in the past six months. Other possible factors that have been highlighted include local business workers, holiday makers and commuters using Chiswick Station and Kew Bridge Station".
The proposed CPZ does not include Fitzroy Crescent, Hartingdon Gardens, Cofton Gardens, Bailey Mews, Hartington Court, Chiswick Staithe, Thames Village, Chiswick Quay and Ibis Lane as there are private roads.
