Local Tube Stations Get WiFi

Turnham Green and Chiswick Park to benefit but not Gunnersbury

Turnham Green and Chiswick Park tube stations are amongst those next to get wifi in a deal with Virgin Media, Transport for London (TfL) has announced. Gunnersbury station is, however, one of seventeen stations on the network not to be upgraded.

The service, which TfL say can reach speeds of more than 100Mbps, has been installed and enabled at 100 more Tube stations, bringing the total now to 250.

Customers of Virgin Media, EE, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, O2 and Three, can access WiFi at no extra cost but Virgin Media also offers a pay-as-you-go service with daily, weekly and monthly passes, so that WiFi access is available to all.

The service will be available at tickethalls, escalators, walkways and platforms.

All Tube customers can keep up-to-date with TfL travel information and quality London entertainment and news at no cost through Virgin Media’s WiFi portal.
