Sainsbury's Non-committal on Future of Recycling Site
Residents say area in car park of store has become unsightly and a health risk

The future of the recycling facilities in the car park at Sainsbury’s in Chiswick appears increasingly uncertain.
The amount of waste building up at the centre has grown significantly and includes some fly-tipping with building materials regularly being left in the area.
This has created an unsightly mess and according to residents in the vicinity, presents a health risk with an increased number of rats observed around the site.
It is believed that usage of the site has soared since the tip nearby at Sterling Road was closed by Ealing Council.
Sainsbury’s did not commit to retaining the service when we asked them about the possibility that it would be withdrawn but told us that it is seeing increasing demand for recycling services at the Essex Place store. It is arranging for additional collections to help clear the site.
A spokesperson said, "We regularly review the services we offer and we’ll keep customers updated.”
