CHISWICK RESIDENTS TO GET BRIEFING ON THIRD RUNWAY Area Committee Meeting on 25th September to include information session on possible Heathrow expansion
Residents will have the opportunity to find out what impact a third runway at Heathrow will have on their lives. Hounslow Council has organised information sessions at the Area Committee meeting to enable local residents to find out more. Hounslow Council will also be asking residents to give their views on the third runway. Forms will be available at the Area Committee meeting, Chiswick Library and on Hounslow Council’s Website www.hounslow.gov.uk . The results of this survey will be reported back to the Government. The meet in takes place at 7.30pm on 25th September at Belmont Primary School, Belmont Road.
In July 2002 the Government began the consultation on the future of air transport with the document ‘Government Consultation on the Future Development of Air Transport in the UK: South East”. This document sets out a number of options for increasing runway capacity in the South East and considers in some detail the possibility of a third runway at Heathrow. The closing date for this consultation is the 30th November 2002.
