Local Rower Grabs Haul at Junior European Championships

Harry Vardigans wins 2 golds for Great Britain

Local boy Harry Vardigans won 2 golds and 2 silvers rowing for Great Britain at the Coupe de la Jeunesse, the sport's equivalent of the European Junior Championships, in Lucerne a couple of weeks ago.

He rowed in 4 races as stroke: in the coxed 4 (JM4+) and the 8 (JM8+) on each day and won a gold and silver in each event.

“All in all it has been a great performance from the team”, said team manager Richard Follett. “It was great to win the team event and it was great to see the men’s four, eight and quad all step up from their Saturday performances”.
