Turnham Green Terrace Set To Partially Close for Five Days

Gas works require southbound carriageway to be dug up

Turnham Green Terrace will be closed southbound

Work on a gas main underneath Turnham Green Terrace will require it to be partially closed for five days later this month.

Cadent need to dig up the southbound carriageway on 21 June and are expected to complete the work in five days i.e. by 25 June.

No details are available at this stage of bus diversion routes but during previous closures the E3 has been sent along Bath Road to Goldhawk Road to re-join Chiswick High Road.

Cllr Gerald McGregor said, “Turning Turnham Green Terrace into a one-way street will again be damaging to the turnover income of the shops, traders and restaurants in this busy shopping area.

“The recent bad experience in Acton Lane outside Chiswick Park Station with the over-extended works carried out by another utility company (Thames Water) does not auger well.”

He has requested that Hounslow Council consider asking Cadent to do the work at night-time and suggested a temporary suspension of the access restrictions imposed by Ealing Council on Fisher’s Lane.

We have asked Hounslow Council for further details.
