New Hogarth roundabout cycle lane bemuses bike riders
A new cycle track at Hogarth Roundabout has left bicycle users bemused because it leads nowhere.
The idea of being able to avoid cycling around the busy roundabout is a good one - although there are a number of underpasses - but after crossing the top of Chiswick Lane the cycle lane stops abruptly on open soil.
Branded a 'lemming death crossing' by a Council insider, the lane was installed by Transport for London but apparently without consultation.
"The lane is now open and awaits a serious incident," commented a local resident.
The lane prompted discussion on the forum with no one being able to come up with an explanation.
We have asked TfL for comment and await their response.
