New Beer Named After Chiswick RNLI
Local lifeboat will get a percentage of proceeds from sales
Chiswick RNLI is to launch a new way to help support the work of the local lifeboat. The 'Friends of Chiswick RNLI' will be launched at a special event tomorrow (Thursday,October 18) at the Lamb Brewery (formerly the Barley Mow) at 7 p.m.
The Lifeboat will also benefit from a donation of 25p per pint from the sale of a new beer 'Lifeboat Volunteer' which will be sold in the pub and also in the Botanist in Kew.
The beer is being brewed in the pubs' own microbreweries.
The RNLI are hoping that the public will turn up to help support them as their fundraising efforts continue.
Chiswick RNLI Lifeboat is the second busiest in the UK and Ireland. The RNLI has 233 lifeboat stations including four on the Thames. Chiswick RNLI lifeboat became operational on the 2nd January 2002. Since then it has responded to over 2,100 emergency calls and rescued 1,000 people.
