Confusion Over Future of Chiswick Post Office

Royal Mail deny collection office closure but staff believe otherwise

Concerns have been raised about the future of Chiswick Post Office after a resident was told by a Royal Mail worker that the parcel collection service is set to move to Acton.

The comment came from an employee when the resident went to the collection office, adjacent to the Post Office on Heathfield Terrace, to complain that the collection from her local post box was consistently made earlier than the stated time.

During her conversation with the employee at the counter she was informed that that section of the building had been sold and Chiswick residents would have to make their way to the Acton sorting office on Bollo Lane in future.

A Chiswick councillor commented that the collection office move had been rumoured for some time although the Council had not received any formal notification.

A spokesperson for Royal Mail told ChiswickW4.com that there are "no current plans for any changes to our Chiswick Delivery Office."
