CGI of scheme on 396-398 Chiswick High Road from the developer
December 23, 2023
A developer proposing a major scheme for a long vacant unit on Chiswick High Road is seeking confirmation that a previously approved planning application is still valid.
Yelloway Ltd was granted the go ahead (P/2019/0566) for a six storey building at 396-400 Chiswick High Road, the former site of CarpetRight and Daniel Beds on 17 November 2020.
Permission was granted on condition that work started within three years. In an attempt to fulfil that condition a trench was dug on the ground floor of the building on 15 November 2023, two days before permission would have expired. The developer says this will contain part of the foundations for the new building and some concrete was poured as part of the initial construction works.
The Isle of Man incorporated company is seeking a certificate of lawfulness (P/2023/3868) to confirm that this activity fulfils the conditions of the earlier application.

The original plans include two retail units on the ground floor with 34 flats above. It would be built in a quasi-pavilion style maintaining a three-storey elevation at street level before stepping back. The current units are two-storeys high.
