Chiswick High Road Action Group Latest

Another meeting and a questionnaire on local development

Residents of Chiswick and those who work in the area are invited to a meeting to discuss possible development along the Chiswick High Road.

The meeting, which has been organised by the Chiswick High Road Action Group (CHRAG) will be held at Christchurch, Turnham Green on 10th December 2012 and starts at 7.30 pm.  It will last for approximately one hour.

At the meeting, CHRAG hopes to provide an update on ongoing and anticipated planning proposals, and those attending will be asked to share views in discussion and by completing a questionnaire.

The questionnaire seeks to establish what people feel is special, not so special, what is worth saving, and what could be improved.

The council is currently analysing the “context and character” of Chiswick for a document which will influence policy towards planning for years to come. The CHRAG steering group believes it is vital that those developing the document are aware of the views of those who live and work in the area and hope to be able to present a good cross-section of local opinion to the council.

In October 2012 150 people met to discuss possible developments along the stretch of Chiswick High Road between the Pack Horse and Cafe Nero.  They agreed that a group should be formed – now called the Chiswick High Road Action Group - to provide a positive and powerful voice to express their views of how they would like the centre of Chiswick to be developed,  and to link with existing groups around Chiswick.

The steering group of CHRAG exists to provide information and direction to the wider group members and additional members will be invited to join the steering group at the meeting on December 10 th.

Those who cannot attend the meeting can fill in the questionnaire and return it to the group before 12 December.

Request a questionnaire from highroadactiongroup@yahoo.com, or pick it up at the meeting.
