St. Alban's Planning Meeting Postponed Again
Council may now discuss development next month
The controversial debate on developing St. Alban's Church into ten flats and a house was been postponed by Ealing Council. The matter had been deferred already to the November 30th planning committee meeting, but local residents who are seeking to keep the property for community use have now been told that it might not be discussed until mid-December.
It is understood the Council is awaiting information from the applicant.
Southfield Liberal Democrat councillor Gary Malcolm said "There is a danger in postponing the planning meetings which can discuss this, that it might appear in December when people are concentrating on the vacation and family matters. The local Liberal Democrat Councillors will keep residents informed on this very important issue. As each week goes by a number of groups are looking at how they, alone or in combination, can buy the church and use it for community use."

Local people who formed an action group to oppose the commercial development have put forward proposals including a community theatre and cafe and a Free School .
Ealing councillors recently visited the site and met with locals. The former Church of England church has not been used for worship for several years due to a declining congregation.
