St. Alban's Church Is Relaunched |
At a well-attended service in the Acton Green church More than 150 people attended the re-launch of St Alban’s Acton Green, a church which has been unused for the last eight years. The church opened its doors again to the local community at the 10.30am service ( Sept 28) – the first step towards making St Alban’s a hub for the whole community.
Richard and Nicola Moy, Vicar and Associate Vicar respectively, at neighbouring church Christ Church Turnham Green, were behind the project to re-launch St Alban’s Acton Green, acting in response to rising church attendance at Christ Church Turnham Green and calls from the local community to return St Alban’s to community use.
“This is a special day for Christ Church W4 and for the whole community. It is so exciting to open the doors for regular worship again this morning and we were blown away that more than 150 came along. St Alban’s will play its part in the vision of CCW4 to be ‘for God, for community and for each other’. Everyone is welcome and we hope that St Alban’s will continue to grow and become the community hub we believe the local area needs.“
