Cat Missing from Cranbrook Road

Didsbury has not been seen since last week

The owners of Didsbury (Dids) a six year old much-loved pet nicknamed 'teddy bear cat', are appealing for help in finding him. Didsbury has been missing since Tuesday, Dec 4.

He is described as a British blue (though he is grey), a short hair cat with amber eyes, and totally motivated by food. He is very friendly and cuddly, his family miss him very much and are offering a reward for his safe return. They are particularly concerned because he does not go out much.

His owners, Elizabeth, Peter and Madeleine, would like people to check their gardens, lofts, sheds or cupboards, especially in the Homefield and Devonshire Road areas.

"Please help get him home for Christmas, it would be the best present ever", they say.

The family have now employed a team of pet detectives, Animal Search UK, led by former police officer Tom Watkins, who come fully equipped with walkie-talkies, rescue traps, torches and police style patrol vehicles to assist with their hunt for the much loved pet.

The company launched twelve years ago, and says it has as many as 2000 visitors a day to its website. Mr. Watkins explains;“Most missing pets are found within a few miles of home – the challenge faced by  owners is making sure that as many people as possible know that their pet has gone missing, and encouraging them to be vigilant in keeping an eye out for them.”
