Microloan is to 'double' donations to African women
The MicroLoan Foundation, a Chiswick charity which provides small loans and guidance to women in sub-Saharan Africa, is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, with the Big Give promising to double any online donations made to the MicroLoan Foundation during next week.
Between the 5th - 9th December, any donations made to the charity through the Big Give web site will be doubled, allowing the MicroLoan Foundation to help twice as many women in Malawi to set up new businesses and rise out of poverty. The “double your donation” proposition is especially compelling in the current economic climate, with donors aware that even a small donation will make double the difference it normally would.
As an added incentive, online donors to the MicroLoan Foundation will receive a limited edition Christmas decoration, with a different design to be collected each day of the Christmas Challenge. Each designer and the date their Christmas decoration is available is shown below:
Monday 5th – Billie Jean
Tuesday 6th – Kam Tang (www.bigactive.com/illustration/kam-tang)
Wednesday 7th – Boris Hoppeck
Thursday 8th – Alison Carmichael (alisoncarmichael.com)
Friday 9th – Sanna Annuka (www.sanna-annukka.com)
Taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge will enable to the MicroLoan Foundation to increase the number of clients the charity supports in Malawi beyond 24,000 women. The charity will also use part of the money donated to open a further two branches in Zambia, again increasing the number of women that the charity can help.
