Westside Youth Club Organise Sponsored River Walk To Send Member On A Trip of A Lifetime
Jack
Kirby, a young boy from Alexandra Gardens, suffered terrible injuries
when he was hit by a car whilst doing his paper. At just 13 years
old, he was left blinded and with very serious damage to his face and
body.
Since the accident, which happened four years ago, Jack's determination
and positive attitude has seen him though many operation. His strength
of character was evident when he represented his school, Linden Lodge
in Wimbledon, in a national rowing competition.
Through
his school, Jack has now been selected to go on a journey of a lifetime
to New Zealand, but needs to raise £600 towards the trip.
In a highly commendable show of support and companionship, Kelvin Fearon
a Youth Leader from The Westside Club (of which Jack is a member) is organizing
a sponsored walk by young people from the club to help raise the money
needed.
The walk held this Saturday 17th April, will start from Barnes Bridge and stretch to Hammersmith Bridge and back which is around 4 miles.
The club members are seeking sponsorship and anyone wishing to support them can do so by phoning Kelvin on 020 8742 2225. Donations can also be sent to Linden Lodge School 61 Princes Way, Wimbledon Park, London SW19 6JB.
