Hogarth's Birthday Opera 'Bash'


A screening of Stravinsky's adaptation of 'The Rake's Progress'

Hogarth’s House are hosting a screening of Stravinsky's opera adaptation of one of William Hogarth's most enduring works, 'The Rake's Progress' to celebrate his birthday.

The event will take place on Tuesday 10th November at 7.00pm (Showing starts at 7.30pm).

With a libretto by W. H. Auden and set design by David Hockney the opera offers a unique take on Hogarth's classic tale of decadence and depravity, rendering all of the glorious detail of Hogarth's prints in a musical technicolor spectacle. Copies of the DVD are now also available in the Hogarth’s House shop.

Tickets cost £12.50 payable on the day. The venue is wheelchair accessible. Please be advised that refreshments will not be available although visitors are welcome to bring their own.
