Beer Brewed with Chiswick Hops Served at Mawson Arms

Fuller's Jekyll and Hyde has ingredients from local garden

A limited edition beer is to be served at the Mawson Arms, Chiswick this Wednesday (26 October).

The annually brewed Jekyll and Hyde beer is the result of some combined work between Fuller's and local residents, David Arnoff and Penny Barltrop. The Chiswick residents have grown their own hops in their garden to create this new brew. These hops were picked in September and have been drying in Fuller’s hop store ever since to reach optimum flavour.

This is the second time that the Griffin Brewery has worked with the local residents. In 2012 a 'Church Street' Chiswick Bitter was brewed using their local hops.

The Mawson Arms, on the Fuller’s Brewery site, and The Cross Keys in nearby Hammersmith, will each receive one firkin (72 pints) of Jekyll & Hyde to serve alongside their other Fuller’s ales.

The beer is described as having a distinctive malty base and a rich balance of well-developed hop flavours with a tawny colour. The local hops make the brew especially refreshing with noticeable bitter aftertastes.

A pint of Jekyll & Hyde will be drawn at 5pm at The Mawson Arms in Chiswick under the observation of the local residents.
