Chiswick based actor/writer Robin Kermode has lived in Bedford Park for nearly 15 years.

“I wouldn’t live any where else in London. It’s almost perfect. And if we could get the Piccadilly Line to stop at Turnham Green it really would be perfect!”

Robin is probably best know for TV sitcoms – Donald Sinden’s son in Never The Twain, Anton Roger’s neighbour in French Fields, Dorian’s toy boy in Birds of a Feather and Ffizz with Richard Griffiths.

Last year he was seen giving his northern copper in Emmerdale, arresting Louraine Chase for murder. He spent a very happy year on stage at the London Palladium in The King and I with Elaine Paige.

“In those pre-congestion charge days you could drive home from the stage door of the Palladium to Chiswick in twenty minutes. There were also many more yellow lines so parking was a doddle. But I’m sure on balance the congestion charge is working and buses in and out of Chiswick are more frequent and cheaper now.” says Robin

Last year he got divorced and tried his hand at writing. His comedy divorce novel, The Flowerpot Man, has had great press.

“We have a big American publisher interested and are in negotiations over the film rights.”

We had some problems at the beginning with the wholesalers but the book is now “out there” and Chiswick Waterstone’s have a shelf full of signed copies.

“It’s a great summer read,” says Robin, adding “but I would say that, wouldn’t I!”
