Woman Rescued from Southfield Road Fire


Firefighters help resident escape from first floor blaze

Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters attended a fire in a two storey house converted into flats on Southfield Road in Chiswick, last night.

A flat on the first floor was partly damaged by fire. A woman was rescued from the affected flat by firefighters using an internal staircase and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade was called at 9.43pm and the fire was under control less than an hour later. Firefighters from Chiswick and Acton stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
