Another burglary on Dukes Avenue

Thieves used stolen mobile to dial chat lines

Police are appealing for information following a burglary on Dukes Avenue this Sunday (6th February). The break in took place at a home on the library side of the road at the end closest to Chiswick High Road.

It is believed that entry to the property, the home of a 51 year old couple, was gained through a rear door. A set of keys was stolen as well as a handbag. The intruders took the car keys but didn't take the car which was parked in the drive.

The handbag contained around £100 in cash, credit cards and a Nokia 3310 mobile phone. One of the cards was used to buy a tube ticket from Hammersmith station. The phone was used to dial chat lines.

The incident took place nearby the site of another break-in during which the keys of four luxury motor cars were stolen. There is no suggestion that the crimes are related.

The investigating officer is DC Neil Fotheringham who can be reached on 8247 5940.
