Car Crashes In Brentford While Being Chased By Police

Three people were injured following a dramatic car chase on Brentford High Street just before 1pm today (5 July). The driver and two passengers were arrested and taken to hospital after the car in which they were travelling crashed while being pursued by an unmarked police car.

Brentford High Street was closed this afternoon and the Air Ambulance was called after a white BMW car being pursued by an unmarked police car crashed into a lamp post close to the Jet garage.

Roads were closed off in the area and buses put on diversion.

Police warned the public to avoid the area near Green Dragon Lane.

London Ambulance said: "We treated three patients for multiple injuries and took them as a priority to a major trauma centre escorted by the doctor from the air ambulance."

According to witnesses a white BMW was being chased by a police car from Hounslow towards Kew Bridge when it mounted the pavement.

A number of bus routes were placed on diversion including the 65, 237, and 267.

The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving and taking and driving away (TDA).

Two male passengers have been taken to a west London hospital. They have been arrested on suspicion of allowing to be carried and TDA.
