Police arrest two people following incident in Grove Park

Police have made two arrests following an incident in Grove Park Terrace when a car smashed into a lamppost close to the railway level crossing.

The incident took place at 5.30 pm Sunday (March 22).

There were two people in the car which hit the lamppost outside a GP Surgery, only a few feet away from the railway crossing.

The railway barrier was not damaged in the incident.

A member of the public alerted police who were quickly on the scene.

A police spokesman said that two people were arrested at the scene and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
