Local Police Make Eight Arrests In Riverside


Most arrests relate to vehicle crime in Grove Park

Police in Riverside ward have made eight arrests in connection with local crimes in the past few weeks, the majority involving motor vehicles.

The police say the worst area for crime involving cars is Grove Park and have advised people to be very careful not to leave items inside.

Two arrests were made for interference with motor vehicles in Chesterfield Road, two for going equipped to steal petrol in Sutton Court Road; two for burglary in Florence Road.

One person was arrested for theft from a motor vehicle and a pedal cycle in Grove Park Terrace, and another arrest was made for theft from a car in Grove Park Road.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team for Riverside said they would continue to prioritise burglary, theft from motor vehicles and theft of bikes and would also be watching for cycling on the pavements.

There are over 940 residents signed up to Neighbourhood link, and the police are aiming to sign up as many residents as possible. Neighbourhood Watch Co ordinators are now in;
