Driver Hurt in Ramillies Road Crash

Vehicle was being followed by police prior to collision

A driver of a car has been arrested after crashing into a wall on Ramillies Road, Chiswick while being chased by a police vehicle.

The white BMW convertible skidded off the road into a garden during the incident which happened last Tuesday.

A police officer at the scene refused to confirm reports of a high speed chase through the quiet residential street but said that the driver of the car was 'of interest' to the police prior to the crash.

Ramillies Road was closed from South Parade to south of the junction with Bedford road for some time, but was later reopened to traffic. The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for injuries. He was later taken to Chiswick Police Station and charged in connection with aggravated theft of a vehicle.
