Was Betty Your Neighbour?

Police appeal for help tracing home of Chiswick woman who died last year

The West London Coroner's Office is asking for help in tracing the home of an elderly lady who died last year.

Betty (Elizabeth) Walsh, 76, died in a house she owned in Southall last November, 2011 but she mostly lived in another property, a flat in Chiswick. The police do not know whether she rented it or owned it but its whereabouts are a mystery.

An inquest into Betty's death was opened and adjourned at West London Coroner's Court in November.

The former nurse used the property in Southall as her main mailing address, but she lived there only sporadically.

Her family are concerned that if they cannot find Betty's home in Chiswick, bills may go unpaid causing heating to fail and pipes to freeze during the current inclement weather. If the property is eventually seized because of non-payment of bills, they fear losing precious family mementos.

Do you recognise Betty? In the photo her hair is dyed dark red, but may well have greyed since this photo was taken at a family gathering some time ago.

If you have any information, please contact Coroner's Officer Diane Whiting on 01895 237286 .
