Witness Sought in Sexual Assault Case

Taxi driver brought victim to address in Chiswick

Thames Valley Police is trying to trace a taxi driver who may have information regarding a serious sexual assault that took place in Ascot earlier this month.

A woman in her forties was assaulted by a man after attending Ascot race course on Friday 6 May.

At around 9.30pm the woman, a white man and an Asian man took a taxi from a pub called Bar One near the race course to an address in Chiswick.

Officers are keen to trace the taxi driver, described as an Asian man, who drove them to Chiswick. He was driving a silver or black people carrier.

Det. Con. Kam Thandi said: “This is a sensitive case and we are at a crucial point in the investigation. We would like to speak to this driver as a matter of urgency as he is a possible witness to this crime. The fare from Ascot to Chiswick might jog his memory.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Con. Thandi via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.

If you prefer to remain anonymous you may call Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
