Court Tackles Serial Chiswick Flasher

Anti-Social Behaviour Order issued on persistent offender

Police have taken advantage of new legislation in an attempt to curb the activities of Karl Karim Oran. Oran has been involved in a string of offences since 1996 including exposing himself in public and making lewd comments to women.

The 39 year old Chiswick man is now subject to an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ABSO) which, as well as preventing him from his criminal behaviour will make him liable to arrest should he be found loitering anywhere without a legitimate purpose or behaving in a way likely to cause harassment to anyone.

The police felt that the ABSO was the best way to deal with this particular case given the nature of the offences. The five year order covers the whole of the United Kingdom and any breach of the order is a criminal offence. The order was made by the Magistrates Court at Brentford.
