Robber Wielding Machete Takes Aled Jones's Rolex

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged after Aled Jones had his watch stolen in the centre of Chiswick.
The 52-year-old presenter of Songs of Praise was walking with his son Lucas at 5pm on Friday 7 July when he was confronted by a robber wielding a machete.
His attacker reportedly waved the weapon in Mr Jones’s 18-year-old son’ face and demanded that he hand over a Rolex watch he was wearing.
According to an article in The Sun, the watch was a Rolex Daytona which is estimated to be worth from £17,000 to £40,000.
Mr Jones complied with the request and then reported the incident to the police.
The Metropolitan Police said, 'A 16-year-old was charged with one count of robbery. The charge follows a robbery on Friday July 7 on Chiswick Road.
'At about 17.40hrs a 52-year-old man reported he had been approached by a male who threatened him with a machete and demanded his watch.'
It is understood the boy accused of the robbery will face trial next month.
The Welsh singer, radio and television presenter, and actor shot to fame for his boyhood performance of ‘Walking in the Air’ when he was a chorister.
