A new passenger boat service is beginning from Chiswick Pier. From Thursday 14 August it will become an official river stop point on the regular public passenger boat service provided by Thames River Boats . This is the first time in its 30-year history that Chiswick Pier will be used as a regular public river stop.

The passenger vessels Cockney Sparrow and Connaught, are regular sights along the River Thames between Easter and October every year, running a regular return service from central London up to Hampton Court Palace.

The current schedule shows that there will be two departures each day from Chiswick Pier to Westminster Pier (the second one being one way) and two to Kew Pier. There will be two sailings a day from Westminster Pier to Chiswick Pier on a service that terminates at Kew.

All ticketing will be through Thames River Boats website, but un-booked passengers can board at Chiswick Pier if space is available. The last return into central London will be approximately 5pm from Chiswick Pier. This service is aimed to bring a much more comfortable alternative way of getting into town for the evening.

A single to Westminster Pier will cost £16 or £23 for a return with child tickets £8 single and £11.50 returns and over 60s £13 and £19 respectively. Family tickets (two children and two adults) cost £40 for a single and £59 for a return.

In previous years, a daily service continued through September and October and during November & December there were sailings Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays until Christmas.

David Rust, General Manager, Chiswick Pier Trust said, “We’re so excited to be working in partnership with Thames River Boats in providing this much needed service, bringing closer connections between this amazing river and our community here in West London. There just isn’t a better way to travel into central London for an evening out in the West End.”
