Pensioners collect signatures at Bedford Park Festival
The Friends of Chiswick Day Centre had another petition signing at the Bedford Park festival which campaign organiser Laura Ware said confirmed an overwhelming support from the Chiswick Community to keep the Chiswick Day Centre open.
She told us, "We collected 760 signatures at the festival. Every one we spoke to felt passionately that the centre was a vital resource that should be safe guarded for the elderly residents of Chiswick and Hounslow for now and for the future generations to come.
"We all now hope that The London Borough of Hounslow listen to the community and reverse their decision to close this Centre.
"Thank you to every one who has helped us collect our signatures and those who very kindly took the time to sign our petition."
The current total signatures so far collected stands at 1119 and is still climbing.
The Friends of Chiswick Day Centre are presenting their petition to the Borough Council on Tuesday 14th June.
