Chiswick House Gardens Consultation

Second in series of informal public meetings and tours

A series of informal consultation meetings with Chiswick residents are being arranged by Trustees of the Chiswick House and Gardens Trust to cover the main topics of concern brought up at the Special Chiswick Area Committee meeting on 13th January 2006.

These meetings are part of the general Stage 2 development consultation process.

The topics of concern which have been identified are:
1. Park Gate, events and vehicles generally
2. Business plan
3. Dogs
4. Conservatory, yard and walled gardens
5. Ecology, trees and Landscape restoration
6. The café

The second meeting will be held on Monday, 27th March 2006 from 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm at The Gabriel Room, St Michael and All Angels Parish Hall, Priory Avenue (at the top of Turnham Green Terrace/ Bath Road, opposite Acton Green) to discuss the business plan.

This meeting will be preceded by an optional walk round the Park in the afternoon. Adrian Cook will lead this, starting from the front (main entrance) of the House at 3.00pm.

The discussions will be led by the three local Trustees, supported by Adrian Cook and other appropriate experts from English Heritage and elsewhere. There will be a very brief update on recent work on the topic (e.g. discussions with the Emergency Services for topic 1) and the aim would be to give time for real exchange of views, listen to serious concerns, ideas to improve the Stage 1 bid for incorporation into Stage 2 and deal with points of concern where details could be confirmed.
