Chiswick House & Gardens Shut Due to Strong Winds

Closed on Tuesday to protect visitors from falling trees

Chiswick House & Gardens was shut on Tuesday 13th March due to high winds. It reopened the following day.

Most of a large tree fell on Monday with the remaining trunk deemed to be dangerous. Another tree was seriously damaged and debris was widespread. Tree inspections were needed across the gardens and they remained closed for this, necessary tree works and due to continual high gusts of wind.

A spokesperson for the Trust that runs the site said, "The team at Chiswick House and Gardens Trust apologise for any inconvenience caused to both regular visitors and Camellia Festival visitors. "
