Artaid 2 proves success in sweltering heat

Artists of all ages joined Ann Keen to raise money for makepovertyhistory

Despite 90 degree temperatures over one hundred artists, young and old, joined local MP Ann Keen at Chiswick Town Hall to raise money for makepovertyhistory charites.

'We were delighted with the turnout' say organisers Susan Forsyth and Kim Huntley, 'The Town Hall was a cool, calm refuge from the heat and a wonderful time was had by all'.

'We were especially pleased to have so many Dad's come along as a Fathers day treat'.

The raffle was won by a Charlie Harwood-Scorer who brought her dad along in the afternoon. 'I really wanted the picture and Dad bought my extra tickets'.

'It was worth it' Charlie says 'because I won!' Charlie is pictured receiving her prize from Susan Forsyth, joint-organiser of ARTAID who donated one of her own paintings, Charlie's dad was also delighted with his unexpected Fathers Day win.  

The event raised much needed funds for various makepovertyhistory charities.  'We're already planning ARTAID 3, probably for around Christmas’ says Susan, ‘ We’ll definitely be leaving our ice buckets at home then!’

ARTAAID is hoping to be at L8 in the make poverty history Live 8 'village' in Hyde Park this weekend.
