There was a star-studded occasion at St. Nicholas Church this Saturday (23 September) with the wedding of Michelle Dockery of Downton Abbey to Jasper, the brother of Fleabag writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Cast members of both shows as well as a host of other well-known faces were seen gathered outside the church and on Chiswick Mall as the sun shone. They had earlier assembled at the George and Devonshire for a pre-wedding drink.
The group included Chiswick residents and Downton cast members such as Elizabeth McGovern and Lesley Nicholls.
The 41-year-old bride who plays Lady Mary Crawley in the ITV period drama was pictured in a white satin gown hand in hand with her new husband as she left the church.
Jasper Waller-Bridge, aged 35, worked for a talent agency with clients such as Holly Willoughby, Amanda Holden and Ant and Dec and now is a film and TV producer. His sister Phoebe was there with her partner, the playwright and filmmaker Martin McDonagh.
Other guests included James Norton, Imelda Staunton, Lily James, Joanne Froggatt, Jim Carter, Lesley Manville, Julian Fellowes and Laura Carmichael who were spotted leaving the 45-minute service at midday.
Lady Mary has had two weddings, but Ms Dockery has not been married before. She was engaged to Irish publicist John Dineen but he died seven years ago from a rare form of cancer aged just 34. She said in an interview several years ago that she considered herself to be a widow.
Her engagement with Jasper was announced in the Times in January of last year.
