Inbetweeners movie looks set to make Chiswick actress a major star
Chiswick based actress, Laura Haddock, looks to be on the verge of big things after her starring role in the new Inbetweeners Movie.
The 26 year old former ArtsEd student features as the object of desire of Will (Simon Bird) in the film spin off of the E4 TV series about the holiday misadventures of four teenage boys.
She was initially nervous about joining the cast of the cult show but became good friends with the four male characters whilst filming on location in Greece. She describes the finished product as a kind of teen bromantic 'Sex in the City'.
In an interview with the Evening Standard, Laura said that the film will give her an opportunity to stop doing photo shoots in lads mags which have helped increase her profile. Now with roles flooding in she can dispense with posing provocatively in publications like FHM. She told the Standard, "I really want to prove to people that I'm so much more than that."
Laura is currently going out with fellow actor and Chiswick resident Sam Claflin who recently appeared as the young Logan Mountstuart in the TV adaptation of William Boyd's 'Any Human Heart'. They initially met just over a year ago but acting projects kept them apart for five months. However, a chance meeting on the platform of Turnham Green tube station brought them together again. Two months later he invited her out to Los Angeles where he was filming the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film.
Laura has recently returned from South Africa where she was filming the second series of Strike Back for Sky 1, playing Dr. Claire Sommers alongside Richard Armitage. Her other TV credits include How Not to Live Your Life, Monday Monday, Marple, My Family and Wild at Heart. Laura's theatre credits include The Widowing of Mrs Holroyd, Famous Last and When we are Married which opened to rave reviews at the Garrick Theatre.
