Ant McPartlin announces engagement to Lisa Armstrong
Ant McPartlin, the slightly taller one of TV duo Ant and Dec, has announced that he has proposed marriage to long term girlfriend Lisa Armstrong.
He reportedly went down on bended knee this Tuesday to present Lisa with a £16,000 Tiffany's engagement ring during the couple's sunshine break.
The Sun reports that he is now looking for a £1 million family home in West London. It would appear that the couple wish to stay in Chiswick as the paper quotes 'a source' as saying, "He won't want to move too far afield. He loves his local and wants to stay close to Dec."
The TV star had previously been reported to have been under severe pressure to marry Lisa who he had been dating for 10 years. Ant had resisted pressure to tie the knot by saying he didn't want to get married until he was thirty. As Ms. Armstrong was no doubt aware he reaches that particular milestone this November.
A spokesperson for the couple was reported as saying, "No date has been set for the wedding. They are overjoyed and looking forward to the future.”
Likely best man at the wedding, Declan Donnelley, is having less success in his love-life. He broke up with long term girlfriend Claire Buckfield last year and apparently hasn't been able to find any one to go out with since. Reports that he was considering buying Fouberts on Chiswick High Road could indicate that he may think he has a better chance of pulling if he owns a night club.
