Matthew Pinsent big draw at Business Park

Olympic gold medallist meets office workers and local community

Matthew Pinsent CBE, British rower and quadruple Olympic gold medallist, was extended a hero’s welcome when he visited a local business park on Friday to meet members of staff and the local community.

Recalling his amazing Olympic achievements, the sporting legend shared some of his motivational secrets with his fans. Keen to inspire others to follow his winning example in every walk of life, Matthew proved to be an inspirational role model for the hordes of Chiswick Business Park employees and visitors from the local community who turned out to meet him.

Sarah Green from the Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work team said, "Matthew has been an inspiration to millions and it’s a great honour for us to welcome him to Chiswick Park. I’m delighted that so many members of the local community joined us for the day, after all – it’s not every day that an Olympic hero lands on your doorstep!”

Interest in the 2012 Olympic bid was high, and Matthew was only too happy to discuss the committee’s plans and progress as well as his own hopes for the future. Thanking everyone for their continued support, Mathew then signed copies of his autobiography ‘A Lifetime in a Race’, which were provided courtesy of Waterstones Chiswick.
