QVC UK has opened a new set of purpose-built TikTok live studios at its Chiswick Park headquarters, marking a major step in the shopping network’s shift towards social commerce — a fast-growing form of online retail that blends entertainment, live video and instant purchasing.
The studios, which officially went live this Monday (8 June), allow audiences to watch creators and presenters stream directly to QVC’s TikTok Shop. In a first for the company, the studios have been designed with glass frontages, meaning anyone walking through Chiswick Business Park will be able to see live broadcasts taking place in real time.
The investment follows a rapid period of digital growth for QVC UK. The retailer launched on TikTok Shop in March 2025 and has since delivered more than 185 live shopping events, including seven large-scale “Mega Lives”, attracting over 30,000 new shoppers.
Social commerce is a form of online shopping that takes place directly within social media platforms. Instead of browsing a website, customers watch live videos or short clips where creators demonstrate products, answer questions and offer exclusive deals. Viewers can buy instantly without leaving the app.
The format has become popular with younger audiences, who prefer interactive, personality-driven shopping experiences. For retailers, it offers a way to turn product discovery into immediate sales — and to reach customers who may never visit a traditional TV shopping channel. Previously QVC UK had been most popular with people aged over 35.
QVC, which built its reputation on live, presenter-led shopping, sees social commerce as a natural extension of its model.
QVC UK chief executive Koreen Fader said the new studios would help the brand reach audiences who increasingly shop through social platforms.
“We’re excited to be launching our new social commerce studios, which will play an important part of reaching new audiences and driving awareness of our brand,” she said. “We are combining our deep heritage in trust-based storytelling and live shopping with a highly dynamic digital environment.”
Robyn Cooke, QVC UK’s director of social commerce, said the studios would allow the company to blend its 30-year legacy with the “raw, authentic energy” of the creator economy.
“It’s an incredibly exciting step, forming part of our mission to meet customers wherever they are,” she said.
For those who live or work in Chiswick Park, the studios will be a visible addition to the business campus. The glass-fronted design means passers-by will be able to watch creators filming live TikTok broadcasts — a behind-the-scenes look at a retail format that is reshaping how people shop online.
The move signals QVC’s intention to remain at the forefront of retail innovation, adapting its long-running live shopping model for a new generation of digital-first consumers..
