Work to Start on Final Phase of Chiswick Business Park

Largest and last office block to be complete by December 2014

Blackstone, the owners of the Chiswick Park office development, have announced that work is to start this month on the final and largest building in the project.

They have awarded an £80million contract to Lend Lease to build Building 7 which will be a 12-storey office block with 334,000 sq ft (31,029 sq m) of lettable space. When complete the building could house over 3,000 workers although no space has been let at this stage. The scheduled completion date is in December 2014.

Building 7 will bring the total amount of built space on the Park to 1.8 million sq ft (167,225 sq m).

Since Blackstone purchased Chiswick Park in March 2011, a total of nearly 400,000 sq ft (37,161 sq m) has been let to tenants including Aker Solutions, International Game Technology, Otis Lifts, International SOS, Swarovski, Absolut Spirits and Pepsi. Following these deals, vacancy on the Park is less than 1% according to Blackstone.

Ken Caplan, Head of Real Estate for Blackstone in Europe, said: ‘We continue to see extremely strong demand for space at Chiswick Park both from existing and potential new tenants, driven by the high quality physical environment, the unique Enjoy Work on-site program and the affordable all-in occupancy costs. This has given us the confidence to launch Building 7 and so complete the Park.”
